The RSPCA is seeking information following allegations of a dog being kicked and punched by her owner outside a café in Tottenham, North London.
A customer at the café on Lordship Lane reported witnessing a sustained attack on a dog, which appeared to have pre-existing injuries, including a swollen eye and mouth. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 18, and was not captured by CCTV cameras.
Inspector Shahnaz Ahmad, who is leading the investigation, said, “I’m appealing to people in the local area for information about this alleged incident, including this man who may have been in the area at the time. Someone who was in the café reports seeing a man punch and kick the dog outside and alleges the beating lasted several minutes. We are keen to find the dog so we can check that they are okay as part of our enquiries.”
Description of the Dog and Suspect
The female dog is described as medium-sized, tan or gold in colour, with floppy ears. She appeared frightened of her assailant, who is said to frequent bookmakers in the area.
The RSPCA has released an image of a man who was in the area at the time and may have information to assist in the investigation. Unfortunately, this incident is not isolated, as there have been several complaints about dogs allegedly being beaten in this area by different people.
