Walkie Dogs, a new social dog walking club, is set to launch across 74 cities in the UK starting on the 18th of August.
The club aims to unite dog lovers nationwide, promoting the numerous wellbeing benefits associated with social dog walking.
Research indicates that social dog walking can enhance both physical and mental wellbeing for dogs and their owners. Walkie Dogs will be the first brand of its scale in the UK, organising weekly group walks across the country.
Members of Walkie Dogs will enjoy several dog-friendly benefits, including the ability to book weekly dog walks and receive bespoke discounts on various products, such as dog staycations. They will also gain access to ‘The Dog Pages,’ a service directory providing information on groomers, kennels, and pet shops. Additionally, members can book discounted dog first aid training courses.
Charitable Partnerships and Community Support
Walkie Dogs collaborates with several charities, notably partnering with Blue Cross, a charity dedicated to rehoming dogs. Collection buckets will be available at every walk, allowing participants to donate to support this cause.
Danny Silk, Founder and Pack Leader of Walkie Dogs, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “This project is the first of its kind on this scale and one that I hope will not only bring dog lovers together but offer a supportive space which benefits local communities in lots of different ways.”
The club’s walks are run by volunteers, aiming to support young people by providing valuable work experience and keeping them engaged in positive activities. Walkie Dogs is committed to working closely with local communities across their 74 locations to ensure the creation of a positive and welcoming environment.
