BSAVA PetSavers is participating in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, aiming to raise £10,000 between 3rd and 10th December.

Donations made during this period will be match-funded by The Reed Foundation and the Small Animal Medicine Society (SAMSoc).

For over 50 years, BSAVA PetSavers has contributed approximately £2.7 million towards clinical research and training programmes. These initiatives address a wide range of conditions affecting pets, including cancer, heart disease, neurological disorders, bone and joint disease, immunological issues, gastrointestinal disorders, and skin diseases.

Funds raised through this campaign will support grants for researchers in universities and veterinary practices. This funding allows veterinary surgeons, nurses, and academics to undertake research aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in pets.

Doubling Donations to Support Pet Health Research

Julian Hoad, President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), highlighted the significance of the campaign.

“The Big Give Christmas Challenge offers donors a fantastic opportunity to see one donation make twice the impact, thanks to our match funders. If you can, please do consider supporting this campaign to fund more research into small animal health,” he said.

Fundraising Manager Allie Selby expressed gratitude to the match funders.

“We are thrilled with this opportunity to raise vital funds for BSAVA PetSavers. A huge thank you to The Reed Foundation and SAMSoc for their support, without them this would not be possible,” she added.
