Xparkles, a newly established designer pet accessory company in Lincolnshire, has secured a significant honour by winning the European Product Design Award™ in the PETS/Pet Supplies: Collars and leashes category.

The accolade, presented by the Farmani Group, recognises Xparkles for its commitment to crafting high-end dog collars that merge style, durability, and affordability.

The European Product Design Award™, created to acknowledge the contributions of global product designers, celebrates practical and well-conceived creations that enhance everyday life. Xparkles’ victory in the Collars and leashes category underscores the brand’s innovative approach to pet accessories, standing out in an international field of talented designers.

Luxurious Materials and Customisation

Xparkles distinguishes itself by using the finest French nappa leather for its collars. A key feature is the incorporation of interchangeable charms made from pure silver, preventing rust and allowing customers to alter the collar’s look to match their pet’s mood or outfit. The patented design in the UK and USA sets Xparkles apart, surpassing the manufacturing standards of many high-end designer fashion houses. Not only are the collars fashionable and stylish, but they also maintain affordability, adding a touch of glitz and glamour to every dog’s appearance.

The collars offer three types of charms: thread through, push through, and screw-based. Each leather collar boasts hand-waxed and double-stitched edges, ensuring durability and comfort. Stainless steel buckles, tested to withstand 72kg of pull, contribute to the robustness of the collars. Xparkles’ commitment to quality extends to its ISO9001 certified production partners, equipped with in-house designers for final product checks. The collars proudly carry the “Made in Britain” label, synonymous with high-end quality leather goods.

Founders’ Vision and Market Gap

Founded by successful entrepreneur Erika Yao and her partner Andrew Blach, Xparkles emerged from the founders’ quest for stylish yet robust pet accessories for their bichon frise poodle cross. Failing to find a suitable option in the market, they identified a gap and created Xparkles. Erika Yao explains, “We wanted to create something that would provide a similar gift-buying opportunity for pet parents. They are perfect for any fashion-conscious dog owner as the look can be changed by switching the charms over to suit an outfit or mood.”

Xparkles aims to collaborate with pet boutiques seeking long-term partnerships and pet groomers looking to diversify their revenue streams. The collars come in various sizes and widths to cater to different breeds, with a diverse selection of charms and accessories, including leather bows.
