This Christmas, Ring and Dogs Trust are teaming up to provide a festive treat for dogs in foster homes.

The initiative aims to support foster carers in the Home from Home scheme, which helps Dogs Trust care for over 3,500 dogs annually while they await permanent homes.

Ring’s Christmas Treataway service delivers festive packages to foster carers, including a three-course dog-friendly meal, a toy, and a Ring Indoor Camera. The camera enables foster carers to monitor their dogs remotely during short absences, such as Christmas shopping trips.

The Treataway menu features a dog-safe roasted turkey crown, gravy, sweet potatoes, pigs-in-blankets, vegetables, and Yorkshire “Paw-ding,” alongside a canine-friendly dessert of Christmas pie and “Dogg-Egg-Nogg.” Delivered free to foster homes, the Treataway provides a festive experience for the dogs while promoting awareness of fostering.

Fostering Stories

Abi Marshall from Billericay, Essex, is among those benefiting from the initiative. A foster carer to multiple dogs through Dogs Trust, Abi described her experience with her current foster dog, Bella, as “life-changing.” Bella, the fourth dog Abi has fostered, enjoyed the Treataway’s festive offerings, especially the Dog-Egg-Nogg.

Dave Ward, Managing Director EU & International at Ring, stated that the initiative is about more than just treats. “Christmas Treataways bring joy and security to foster dogs and their carers. At Ring, we believe every member of the family deserves to feel safe and cared for, including furry friends in need of homes.”

Adam Clowes, Operations Director at Dogs Trust, emphasised the importance of fostering in helping dogs find permanent homes. “Foster carers are invaluable in preparing dogs for their new families. Ring’s support brings a special touch this Christmas, and we hope it inspires more people to consider fostering.”

Expanding the Christmas Treataway

On 13 December, foster carers in Basildon, Manchester, Cardiff, Kenilworth, and Canterbury can order a free Treataway. Additionally, Ring is donating extra packages to Dogs Trust rehoming centres in Manchester, Cardiff, and Kenilworth, ensuring more dogs benefit from the festive gesture.

For those interested in fostering, Ring is hosting a London event, offering insights from current foster carers and Dogs Trust staff. Attendees can try a Treataway, learn about fostering, and donate to Dogs Trust to take home a festive package for their own dog.
Promoting Responsible Festivities

The Christmas Treataway emphasises the importance of safe and dog-friendly treats. Ring and Dogs Trust encourage dog owners to introduce new foods gradually and avoid harmful ingredients.
