In the heart of New Forest’s Burley Park, Dogstival, crowned the ‘Best Pet Day Out in the UK’ at the Animal Star Awards, is set to make a triumphant return on Saturday, 1st, and Sunday, 2nd June 2024.
Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of the New Forest, Dogstival promises a memorable weekend for dog enthusiasts and their four-legged companions. With dog-friendly accommodations, including the Dogstival-approved Montagu Arms boutique hotel and charming cottages from New Forest Cottages, the event beckons as the perfect pet-friendly getaway for 2024.
A Lineup of Activities
Estimating that a dog can clock up around 40,000 steps during the event, Dogstival 2024 boasts the most ‘have a go’ activities of any doggy festival in the UK. From dog sports like flyball and agility to Barkour—an adventure playground approved by canines—the festival offers a plethora of activities to keep tails wagging. Headlined by Naturo natural pet food, the event ensures a diverse range of entertainment, including scent work, diving and splash pools, and the much-anticipated ‘Paw-lympic’ ceremony with leaderboards.
In the Naturo Main Arena, attendees can also witness captivating displays, including the Paws For Thought Display Team showcasing impressive canine tricks and games. The Little Nippers & Terriers Racing adds an element of chaos as dogs chase the lure in a thrilling race. As a nod to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, working dogs from the military, police, and search and rescue will engage in the ultimate challenge of scent work and agility.
Top Dawg Show Ring and Dogfuriendly Muddy Paws Tavern
The Top Dawg Show Ring invites dogs of all shapes and sizes to participate and win fun titles, contributing to Dogstival’s charities. The Dogfuriendly Muddy Paws Tavern serves as a perfect spot for attendees to relax, enjoy expert talks, play dog bingo, and participate in the Big Pup Quiz, with prizes up for grabs. Breed meet-ups, Dan the Hat Circus Skills & Comedy Show, and more await visitors at the Tavern.
Additionally, knowledge seekers can head to the Canine MOT Centre stage to gain insights into the latest canine health and wellbeing. Over 120 stands offer a variety of goodies for both dogs and their human companions. Food options also abound, with treats and puppuccinos for dogs and local delights for humans from Hampshire vendors, including the Crispy Duck Rotisserie and Oink BBQ.
VIP Treatment for Charity and Sustainability
While visiting dogs take center stage, Dogstival pays it forward by showcasing and supporting charities such as Pets As Therapy and Dogs Trust in their Rehoming Village. Additionally, the event is committed to managing its carbon pawprint, building on last year’s success in recycling 67.5% of event waste and implementing sustainable practices for organizers, exhibitors, and vendors alike.
