Jollyes, the national pet retailer, is set to open its first store in Merthyr Tydfil later this month. Located at Triangle Business Park Road, Pentrebach, this grand opening will mark the company’s 93rd store in the UK and its fourth in Wales.
The much-anticipated event on August 12 will be attended by distinguished guests from Merthyr County Borough Council, including Mayor Councillor Malcolm Colbran and Regeneration Cabinet Member Michelle Symonds.
Regional Manager Sam Wells expressed excitement about the new location, stating, “We’re thrilled that Pentrebach will be our fourth location in Wales, and we’re looking forward to bringing the kind of value and service that’s already available at Wrexham, Llanelli, and Flint to Merthyr.”
The flagship store will showcase a new-look community pet clinic, the Jolly Groomer salon, and a raw food frozen ‘shop-in-shop,’ making it a true haven for pet lovers in the area.
The clinic will offer vet-supervised dog and cat vaccinations starting at £14, with rabbit vaccinations priced at £13. Additionally, primary course jabs for dogs and cats will be available at £33, and microchipping services will start at £13. Meanwhile, at the Jolly Groomer salon, pet parents can treat their furry companions to a refreshing bath and brush session, with prices starting at £15.
Heading the team of 12 staff members is Sadie Rawlings, who brings her experience from overseeing the successful launch of Jollyes in Llanelli last December.
To mark the official opening, a 15-foot, smoke-breathing dragon character named Dreygo will make a grand appearance, accompanied by the adorable cockapoo, Milo, who belongs to Merthyr Council Regeneration Cabinet Member Cllr Michelle Symonds. Together with Mayor Malcolm Colbran, they will add charm and excitement to the event.
The celebrations will continue with a host of treats and surprises for the customers. The first 100 visitors on the opening day will receive a delightful goody bag as a token of appreciation. Additionally, every customer will have the chance to spin Jollyes’ ‘Wheel of Fur-tune,’ where exciting prizes await. Not to be missed is the ice-cream tricycle offering frozen treats from Frozzys, adding to the joy of the occasion.
Moreover, the store’s commitment to the community will be evident through its support for the local charity, Friends of Animals Wales, as they raise funds to help animals in need.
With the stage set and anticipation building, the opening of Jollyes in Merthyr Tydfil promises to be a memorable event. Pet parents and their furry companions can look forward to a warm and welcoming environment, filled with a wide array of pet products and services to cater to every need. As the doors open, Jollyes will become a cherished part of the community, providing pet lovers in Merthyr Tydfil with a one-stop destination for all their beloved companions’ requirements.
