The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) has announced that market research firm NielsenIQ (NIQ) will join the speaker line-up at its upcoming Business of Pets conference.

This two-day event, aimed at fostering growth in pet businesses, will take place from Wednesday 5 to Thursday 6 June at the Cranfield Management Development Centre, Cranfield University, Milton Keynes.

Insights into Pet Industry Trends

Hannah Lyford, Expertise and Consulting Director at NIQ, will deliver a presentation on the state of the UK FMCG marketplace. Her talk will focus on how changing shopper behaviour influences the pet industry. NIQ, known for providing comprehensive retailer sales metrics and consumer behaviour insights, will offer valuable information to conference delegates.

Lyford’s presentation will cover the impact of inflation and the increased cost of living on households with pets. She will also discuss key trends in the retail environment, including online shopping, and how these trends affect shopper behaviour and the pet industry. This session promises to provide attendees with data-driven insights that can help shape successful marketing strategies in the FMCG sector.

Conference Aimed at Pet Business Growth

Sponsored by Worldpay, the Business of Pets conference aims to foster innovation, finance, and marketing strategies within the pet industry. The programme includes a comprehensive lineup of expert speakers and networking opportunities. An evening BBQ is scheduled to conclude the first day, offering additional informal networking.

Cranfield University’s Management Development Centre provides an ideal backdrop for the conference, with its remote working facilities, excellent transport links, and onsite accommodation. Nigel Baker, CEO of PIF, expressed his enthusiasm about the event and the inclusion of NIQ in the speaker line-up.

“We are delighted that Hannah will join us at our Business of Pets conference. Understanding the key trends in pet owner buying habits is crucial for pet businesses to develop strategies which deliver products and services that pet owners really want. NIQ’s session will form part of a full programme of talks aimed at pet businesses that have big ambitions,” Baker said.

The two-day conference will feature numerous expert speakers, offering insights and advice on various aspects of the pet industry. For full details on the speakers, ticket purchases, and accommodation, interested parties are encouraged to visit the PIF website.
