Tails.com, a tailored dog food service in the UK and Netherlands, has proudly announced its certification as a B Corporation after undergoing assessment by B Lab.
B Lab is a non-profit network dedicated to fostering a global economy that benefits people, communities, and the planet. Certified B Corporations, like Tails.com, undergo independent assessment by B Lab to demonstrate their commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Tails.com achieved an impressive overall score of 89.8 points across five key impact areas: governance, workers, customers, community, and environment.
Environmental Initiatives
Tails.com earned commendation for its robust environmental strategy, which includes transitioning all its sites to 100% renewable energy. Furthermore, the company reduced total waste generated in its factories by 14% and donated over 455,000 meals to pets in need in 2023.
The well-being of Tails.com employees also received “strong” results in the Workers area of B Lab’s Assessment. The company ensures that its team members are fairly compensated by paying a relevant local real living wage for each site. Additionally, Tails.com promotes holistic approaches to work-life balance, offering flexible working arrangements, a nine-day fortnight with no loss of pay, enhanced parental leave, breastfeeding policies, and socially responsible pension options.
