The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) announces its ambitious plans for the upcoming year, building upon the successful strides made in 2023.

The focus remains on bolstering pet businesses through strategic initiatives and community collaboration.

The highly anticipated Business of Pets conference, slated for June 2024 at Cranfield University, will be a pivotal event. Aimed at pet businesses striving for growth and evolution, this conference themed ‘Money, Products, and Marketing’ will feature insightful talks and invaluable networking opportunities, offering attendees a platform to elevate their enterprises.

British Dog Groomers’ Association (BDGA) Returns

The Pet Industry Federation is rolling out a series of weekly webinars exclusively for its members in 2024. Covering diverse topics such as Amazon marketing strategies, HR concerns regarding flexible work arrangements and minimum wage compliance, merchandising tactics, international trade insights, canine behavior analysis, body language interpretation, and Instagram utilization, these webinars aim to empower members with crucial industry knowledge. Access to these webinars is complimentary for PIF members, with details and registration information available on the PIF website early in the new year.

Additionally, responding to popular demand, the British Dog Groomers’ Association (BDGA) is reintroduced as a PIF division. A revamped logo will be exclusively available to grooming members, enabling them to prominently showcase their grooming services to customers. Members specialising in dog grooming will receive a distinctive BDGA sticker in 2024, highlighting their expertise in this area.

PIF is set to launch an updated version of its member-to-member advertising directory, MarketPlace, on its website. This feature aims to facilitate seamless business relationships among members, showcasing their products to both trade entities and pet owners. Additionally, a business-to-business services directory is scheduled for launch in 2024. It will further enhance member connectivity and fostering collaborative opportunities within the industry.

PIF Awards and Ongoing Member Benefits

The PIF Awards, scheduled for November with the campaign set to kick off in May, remain a highlight for 2024. Throughout the year, PIF plans to introduce updated benefits and advancements tailored specifically for its members, focusing on providing added value and support.

Nigel Baker, PIF CEO, commented, “Our commitment lies in continually enhancing PIF membership benefits. As a trade association encompassing diverse pet businesses, our strength lies in fostering a vibrant community. Our goal is to empower our members to thrive. We believe that our 2024 plans, in addition to the existing membership advantages, will further elevate our members’ success.”
