The upcoming store openings include Belfast Connswater in Northern Ireland on 23 February, Newport in Gwent on 1 March, and Rotherham in South Yorkshire on 22 March. This strategic expansion follows Jollyes’ commitment to providing quality pet products and services across diverse regions.
Since the start of 2022, Jollyes has experienced substantial growth, doubling the size of its estate with the opening of 34 new stores. The Newport store, scheduled to open on St David’s Day, will officially be the 100th location, showcasing its dedication to serving communities and creating employment opportunities.
Record-Breaking Christmas Performance
In addition to the exciting expansion news, Jollyes has reported a record-breaking Christmas performance. The company achieved like-for-like sales growth of 13% for the five weeks leading up to 31 December 2023. Total growth during this period reached an impressive 25%, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in value and services.
The final week before Christmas marked Jollyes’ strongest seven-day trading period in history. The company witnessed an almost 45% increase in customers compared to the previous year, with a 26% growth on a like-for-like basis. The remarkable Christmas trading success has also resulted in over 50,000 Trustpilot reviews, with more than 88% of customers rating Jollyes as excellent.
Investing in Infrastructure for Future Growth
To support its expanding operations, Jollyes has confirmed the commencement of deliveries from its new Wincanton distribution centre in Middlewich, Cheshire. This state-of-the-art facility will provide Jollyes with a larger space to accommodate its rapid store growth.
The Wincanton location is equipped to handle up to 25% more cases each year, ensuring efficient replenishment of inventory for over 100 stores. The distribution centre is expected to facilitate over 10,000 deliveries annually, reinforcing Jollyes’ commitment to excellence in supply chain management.
