The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) is rallying pet businesses to contribute vital supplies for the welfare of abandoned pets in Ukraine through the ‘Save the Pets of Ukraine’ project.
In an effort to provide much-needed assistance to Ukraine’s vulnerable pets, PIF is urging UK pet businesses to donate essential items such as pet food, treats, flea and tick treatments, as well as health and hygiene products. The initiative aims to gather donations from across the industry and coordinate their transportation to Ukraine.
Making a Difference
Nigel Baker, CEO of PIF, emphasized the prolonged impact of the conflict on pets in Ukraine. He stated, “The Ukraine war is far from over, and many abandoned pets still live in shelters which rely on food and product donations to support the pets residing there.” Baker acknowledged the collective effort of pet businesses in previous months and expressed hope that they would once again step up to aid the countless pets in Ukraine affected by the conflict.
Pet businesses interested in contributing to the cause are encouraged to reach out to PIF through Daniel Everett, whose email is provided for donation details: daniel.everett@petfederation.co.uk. By coordinating these donations, PIF aims to make a significant impact on the well-being of pets struggling in the aftermath of the conflict.
This call for donations reflects the commitment of the pet industry to support the welfare of animals in crisis, highlighting the importance of collaboration and compassion within the global pet community.
